Plan and deliver engaging, varied, and well-structured engineering lessons in line with the Charterhouse syllabus, focusing on key principles and real-world applications.


Create a fun and productive learning environment that develops students’ knowledge, skills, and interest in engineering across a range of specialisations.


Maintain an inclusive, communicative, and supportive classroom where students feel confident to participate and express ideas.


Manage student behaviour appropriately, ensuring a positive and focused learning environment in line with guidance from senior staff.


Attend weekly meetings with the Course Director and Director of Studies to discuss student progress, feedback, and any concerns.


Complete all required administrative tasks, including maintaining accurate registers, records of learning, and student reports.


Support end-of-course activities, including attending Final Presentations where possible.


Follow safeguarding procedures at all times and contribute to a safe, positive, and enriching environment for students and colleagues.


Ensure all quality control processes are completed professionally, including accurate record keeping and respecting equipment and facilities.


PERSON SPECIFICATION – ENGINEERING ACADEMIC LEADER


All staff contribute to the smooth running of the camp. The safety of students is paramount, and high standards are expected at all times.


Engineering Academic Leaders are expected to maintain high personal standards and demonstrate a friendly, positive, and approachable manner. They must remain professional and calm, handle sensitive situations with care and discretion, and adhere to confidentiality and data protection guidance. Strong organisational skills and a passion for education are essential.




THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL


Have experience teaching or working with young people in an academic or educational setting.


Have a strong background or interest in engineering or a related field.


Demonstrate strong communication, organisation, and teamwork skills.


Show a clear commitment to safeguarding and student welfare.


Hold a relevant academic or teaching qualification
